In my practice I recognise and respect both professionally diagnosed and self diagnosed disabilities and long term conditions that are affecting you. Below is a list of accessibility information and the different ways I can accommodate your needs in our sessions. If there is any further information, photos, accommodations you need do not hesitate to ask. We can explore our options and adapt these to suit your needs.
What is already available:
There are no automatic doors, but all of them are light to open.
There is one flight of stairs to the counselling room.
No wheelchair accessible bathrooms or showers.
Gender neutral bathrooms.
The room has a sofa for you to sit comfortably and there is enough space to move around the room during the sessions.
The room is big enough for us to be 2m apart.
There is a fan, window and a heater for temperature control and ventilation. I also bring an icepack or a hot water pack in severe weather conditions.
What can be agreed on and offered:
Online sessions via Zoom.
Changing the session format from f2f to online with less than 48h notice (eg. due to sudden flare up).
Having forms read aloud and explained during session time.
Communication cards or other forms of contact when you're non-verbal.
Stim toys and plushies for self soothing.
Having a family member/ partner/ friend in the waiting room.
Wearing face masks and keeping at a 2m distance.
