Confidentiality is on of the pillars that make counselling feel safe. However, as part of my duty of care I might need to disclose details from our sessions. Here is what this means and how I approach such disclosures.

The short answer is No, we don't.
For some sitting still in therapy gives a sense of intentionality, predictability and focus. For others it feels uncomfortable, rigid and intense.

There is a lot of anxiety and distrust around disclosing suicidal ideation, intent and attempts to therapists.
